Abstract

Gives practical advice to those involved in the management of healthcare waste and applies to all who come into contact with or manage it, providing a basis of common understanding for all parties including the public, all staff and third parties.


Document History

Published 20 March 2013. Supersedes Space for Health: Healthcare Environment 'Safe management of healthcare waste', which replaced HTM 07-01 Safe management of healthcare waste version 1.0. 2nd edition (2011). This guidance was produced and updated in partnership with Defra and the Department for Transport and with the full support and cooperation of the Regulators (Environment Agency and the Health and Safety Executive) and the devolved administrations.
