Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA)

ECIA is a trade and employer association covering over 300 member firms in the engineering construction industry. The scope of this sector includes the project engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, maintaining and dismantling of process plants of all kinds (e.g. powerstations, steelworks, oil refineries, chemical plants) and structural steelwork projects such as the steel frames of high-rise buildings and steel bridges. The work of its member firms interfaces with civil engineering on many projects, but is quite separate and distinct from it.
