Victorian Society
The Victorian Society exists to save the best examples of Victorian architecture when they are threatened with demolition. It is a pressure group which attempts to bring an informed opinion to bear on Government, local authorities, and owners to prevent the needless demolition or destructive alteration of buildings of architectural and historic interest. It is a statutory consultee for all listed building applications involving demolition. The Society has published various books and reports; a complete list is available on request.
