In this issue we give you the NBS Christmas opening hours to note in your diary, tell you how to take advantage of lower 2007 rates on NBS products and how to save up to 30% on NBS Building Regulations. NBS Christmas Holiday 2007

NBS Christmas Holiday 2007The NBS Customer Centre is closed from 5:00pm on Friday 21 December until 9:00am on Wednesday 2 January 2008. During this period we are unable to unlock software licences or provide telephone support.

For support queries during this period, please refer to the Help files
in your NBS product or consult the software support pages on the NBS website.

To view the online support you need to create or login to your NBS website account by visiting www.theNBS.com/account and then
enter your subscription ID(s) for your NBS products. Your subscription ID(s) have been sent to the delivery contact for your NBS subscription, however we can email it to you if you contact us at info@theNBS.com during NBS Customer Centre opening hours on or before 21 December. Please note that NBS website accounts supersede the subscribers’ area of the NBS website.

NBS Christmas Holiday 2007Remember - from 1st January 2008 a standard annual price
increase will be applied to all NBS products and services. This
price increase will be in excess of 4%, therefore if you are
considering subscribing to any NBS product and wish to benefit
from 2007 rates, please ensure that NBS receive your order by
10am on Friday 21 December 2007 at the latest.

The NBS order form can be returned by fax with a credit card
payment. If you are sending a cheque by post, please leave enough
time for it to reach us given Christmas posting dates.

New standards for asphalt paving

On 1 January 2008 the existing British Standards for asphalt paving (BS 4987-1 and BS 594-1) will be withdrawn and replaced by a new European Standard, BS EN 13108, in several parts.

The transition to the new standard will be eased by the publication by BSI of PD 6691:2007 ‘Guidance on the use of BS EN 13108 bituminous mixtures – Material specifications’. This document provides guidance on specification to the new standard based on the requirements of the old standards.
