Revisions
Your specification holds an abundance of information that
changes over time. How you manage, monitor and report these changes can all be
handled within NBS Building.
What you can track
The software records the following changes to your work section:
- New clauses being added
- Clauses being removed
- The content of a clause being amended.
To keep track of changes internally, the time, date and person responsible
for making changes are also recorded.
How to start using revisions
To start using the revision functionality you should create the initial revision stamp the first time your specification is issued.
In NBS Building, open your specification and a section. Click on the Revision in the section header.

This will make the revisions window appear; select Create New.

You can then enter a Label and Purpose for your revision, and select Create new revision now. Your revision stamp is now made.
If the specification needs re-issuing and amendments have been made to this work section then these will be displayed when you create this revision. The screenshot below shows that five clauses have been changed between the "Issued for tender" and "Post tender changes".

All changes will be displayed for you to view, a useful feature when you want
to indicate to the project team any amends that have been made.
Communicating revisions to members of the project team
NBS Building gives you the ability to be able to print a summary of the revised clauses on the work section separator page.
Go to the print options, and you can select to include various amounts of revision information.
You can select to have the individual clause details included on separator pages. You can also select to display a history of the previous revision stamps that have been placed on the document.

You also have the ability to use revision information throughout your specification by inserting automated fields in the header and footer.
Once you have included these elements into your printed specification, you have a document that more clearly highlights any modifications to the specification to the project team.
