NBS Guidance displays one of the following messages:
“Action Cancelled - Internet Explorer was unable to link to the web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable”
OR
“Warning – Unable to display NBS Guidance”

Microsoft released a Security Update for Windows that may affect the operation of your NBS Specification product.
Microsoft then released further information acknowledging the effect of this update on third party software including NBS Building, NBS Landscape and NBS Engineering Services:

The Security Update for Windows (KB896358) has caused a problem within your NBS software by blocking access of CHM files over networks. NBS guidance files are CHM files and so have been blocked from being accessed in the software on network installations.
Resolution
For a resolution we must first identify what version of Internet Explorer is installed on the machine. To identify what version you are using, open up Internet Explorer and go to Help > About Internet Explorer, or compare it with the shortcut icons below:
