NBS National BIM Survey

Whether you have never heard of Building Information Modelling (BIM) or whether you’re leading the way in BIM workflow we’d like you to complete our NBS National BIM Survey.

This will be our second annual survey on this topic and it will be fascinating to see whether the UK construction industry's attitude to BIM is changing.

In the 2011 report we discovered that almost half of the UK construction industry was not aware of BIM. This was at a time when the government was finalising its new construction strategy that will mandate the use of BIM for government projects of £5million and above. In addition, only 13% of the UK had adopted BIM, showing that it was far from being a world leader in this field.

Awareness and use of BIM

On the flip side, those who were aware of BIM were making plans to adopt it on the majority of their projects in the coming years. The chart below showed that in three years 50% of those aware of BIM intend to be using it on all or the majority of their projects.
