The Institution is a professional body for designers who operate in widely diverse fields of design practice. It embraces all forms of technology relevant to design, particularly computer-aided design and drafting, computer-aided engineering and rapid prototyping. Although primarily a design body the Institution has very active and close associations with engineering in all its forms and disciplines.
