Video: Sustainable property - does it make economic sense?

The contribution of buildings, and of the property and construction sectors, to sustainable development could be immense – indeed we spend almost 90% of our lives inside buildings! Given this, it's not hard to understand that healthy indoor environments contribute significantly to human health and wellbeing. Or, put another way, they offer a large potential for reducing "external" costs to society by reducing days lost to sick leave, and even Sick-Building Syndrome. But how do we put a value on sustainability in property? We speak to two co-authors of a recent RICS report entitled Sustainable Property Investment & Management – Key Issues and Challenges which addresses this very question.
