Abstract

Provides additional information for planning and working on roofs and to understand the requirements of the Orange book, discussions cover: fragile surfaces, choosing a competent company, methods statement, access, power cables, removal of materials, risk assessments, planning work, storing materials, loads, fixing, PPE, construction drawings, reporting incidents, legal aspects, specifying and high maintenance roofs.

Since publication of ACR[CP]001:2007 Rev.3 Recommended practice for work on profiled sheeted roofs (orange book), the Advisory Committee for Roof safety has received many requests for clarification of the recommendations contained in that publication, so have now issued this document to provide informative guidance.
