Abstract

Gives requirements for resistance, serviceability, durability and fire resistance of steel structures.

Superseded by BS EN 1993-1-1:2022. This document is considered to be a first generation Eurocode and is the applicable standard for building and civil engineering works constructed in the UK. A period now exists to prepare for the transition between first and second generation Eurocodes. First generation Eurocodes will be withdrawn by BSI on 30 March 2028 and will be replaced by second generation Eurocodes. Supersedes BS EN 1993-1-1:2005. Amendment 16568 is corrigendum No.1 dated September 2006 - Implementation of CEN corrigendum February 2006. Amendment dated 28 February 2010 - Implementation of CEN corrigendum April 2009. Amendment dated 30 June 2015 - Implementation of CEN amendment A1:2014. To enable BS EN 1993-1-1:2005+A1:2014 to be used in the UK the latest version of the NA to this standard containing these NDPs should also be used.
