Abstract

Partnering is collaborative working on a considered and deliberate basis. It may be called an alliance or having a preferred contractor but the real measures of partnering are the characteristics of the relationship. Five are critical to success: Team ethos of commitment, co-operation and synergy, Open book and transparency, Trust, High level/senior involvement, and Early involvement of key players. This toolkit looks at the needs of all stakeholders but ensures that greater information is available for suppliers, particularly those further down the supply chain, including specialists and manufacturers. In this toolkit customers are referred to in the context of procurers of services and include end users, property developers or main contractors.
