Abstract

Designed to help local authorities determine how transport measures might help improve air quality. Explains the statutory background and sets the national context. Considers how road transport contributes to local air pollution. Summarises some national measures to reduce pollution from road transport. Sets out some of the considerations n designing traffic management schemes, listing key research documents and suggests a number of local transport measures which authorities might with to consider.
