Abstract

Updates the 2nd edition to include provisions for improving co-ordination of highway works by street authorities, introduces 3 month advance notice of major works and redefines major works. Provides practical guidance and advice for undertakers and street authorities in England on their legal responsibilities in relation to street or highway works.

3rd edition only applicable in England. 2nd edition with appendix E is applicable in Wales only. 1st edition is applicable in Scotland only. This 3rd edition is published by DfT and came into operation on 1st April 2008. It replaced the 2nd edition published by HAUC.
