Abstract

Advice on correct use of traffic signs and road markings which are required by the Traffic signs regulations and general directions. This chapter focuses on regulatory signs, which give instructions or indicate prohibitions. Detailed coverage for: stop and give way signs, compulsory and prohibited movements, traffic prohibition, waiting and loading prohibition, on-street parking and loading, verge or footway parking, clearway and no stopping signs, red routes, pedestrian zones, controlled and restricted parking zones, speed limits, bus lanes and gates, tram signs, cycle facilities, lane control signals and tidal flow signs.
