Abstract
Drawn up to provide, in respect of the design, installation and use of commercial and industrial refrigerating systems, recognised good standards for use by designers, specifiers, contractors and end users. This guide to good practice is concerned only with refrigerating systems using fluorocarbon refrigerants i.e. CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs.

The Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association represented those responsible for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration products and equipment. HVCA changed name to the Building and Engineering Services Association (B&ES) on Thursday 1 March 2012.
