Abstract
The basic principles of welding have not changed in the sixteen years since this booklet was first produced. However, Workplace Health and Safety Regulations have moved forward and this third edition incorporates the principles of risk assessment, the control of substances hazardous to health and changes in first aid techniques.

The Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association represented those responsible for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration products and equipment. HVCA changed name to the Building and Engineering Services Association (B&ES) on Thursday 1 March 2012.
