Abstract

Designed to assist employers to comply with their risk assessment obligations under the health and safety regulations. Provides simple to use guidelines to legal compliance and safe working by using general assessments, which guide workers for many jobs involving similar tasks and risks. Also provides guidance, for employers and contractors, on developing risk assessments for inclusion into a Health and Safety Plan. This work clarifies the duties of the employer under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, which has always included the need for employers to identify and manage risks to health and safety, including noise, hazardous substances and manual handling.
