Highlights the drivers and initiatives related to delivering sustainability in the UK in some areas of energy and water conservation as well as waste minimisation. Identifies the main organisations driving or responding to initiatives to conserve natural resources, mitigate the effects of climate change and deliver sustainable construction. Considers the main outputs from these initiatives. Emphasises the impact on housebuilding of these drivers and initiatives. Assesses and presents some examples of their likely impact on housebuilding.
