Our industry is progressing at an accelerated rate and we believe at BIM Show Live we have an obligation to bring our visitors the very best our industry has to offer for technology and digital construction, plus what has changed year-on-year and what this means for future projects.

The event seminars are split into four distinct themes with an emphasis on strategy, the next generation, data and stories.

Theme-by-theme highlights include:

Data

Rob Jackson of Bond Bryan Digital with Nigel Davies and Daniel Heselwood from Evolve Consultancy follow up their BIM Show Live 2013 box office smash “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly” with a live demonstration of everything you need to know to exchange models and data between the top three BIM authoring tools.

Innovating Futures’ Mike Turpin will take a look at the headline topic of the moment: model checking, validation and verification.

Our own Dr Stephen Hamil will look at how to develop structured information throughout the project timeline in a collaborative environment, Stephen will finish the session looking to the future and examining how emerging technologies such as the cloud, machine learning and augmented reality will change the way we work.

Stories

Natacha Redon from Identity Consult looks at how Lidl, with help from Space Group and Identity Consult, have embraced the use of BIM: standard store models available for download, data heavy objects and a rapid, interactive costing process using automated measuring and sorting of information.

Scott Grant of Soluis Group looks at how the current wave of technology advancements in ‘simulated reality’ are beginning to address the most fundamental challenges faced in the design, the delivery and operation of construction projects.

Grimshaw’s Andy Watts and Aurelle de Boissieu put the digital cat well and truly among the pigeons with their seminar, ‘Why we all hate interoperability: tools, late nights and case studies’
