Department for Communities
The Department for Communities (DFC) is one of nine Northern Ireland departments, which has strategic responsibility for equality, anti-poverty, sports, arts and culture, languages, finding employment, historic environment, housing, regeneration, benefits and pensions, community and voluntary sector development, social legislation and child support. Previously known as Department for Social Development; Department of Employment and Learning; Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment; Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland; Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure; and the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister.
