Update 47 - July 2016
As part of their ongoing publishing programme, the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) released the first batch of their ‘2016’ contracts towards the end of June. This included the Minor Works (MW) and the Minor Works with Contractor’s Design (MWD). The two new MW contracts include a mixture of consolidation and new content. JCT have also made some alterations to the payment and insurance provisions, with the intention of making both easier to manage.

The Project Management content for these contracts has been reviewed and amended for inclusion in NBS Create to support users in use of these contracts on their projects.

This update is the first part of a programme of JCT 2016 updating activity as we respond to changes published by JCT. We are also in discussion with SBCC and JCLI (who use JCT documents as the basis of their own contract forms) to plan updates for related NBS content – of note to NBS Create customers who subscribe to the landscape library, or use the Scottish contracts.

Full details of our JCT 2016 updating activity.

Full details on JCT and other content changes in this update can be found in the 'What's new' section of the Guidance.

Update 42 - April 2016
Following an extensive rationalization of ‘membranes’ products within Create, 69 existing clauses have been harmonized into 10 new generic product clauses, resulting in some 1000 re-links across 70 system sections and simplifying the selection of membranes. Also by removing the selection of specific materials and additional performance criteria to product level, there is now additional generic and proprietary choice within NBS Plus.
