Our ongoing activity to keep your specifications up to date has resulted in 8 content updates with amendments to 85 sections, comprising:
- 91 new clauses
- 530 revised clauses
- 76 removed clauses
The updates during this period were to reflect changes in Standards, Approved Documents and regulations and developments in working practice with examples of updated sections including biodiesel and bioethanol systems and the specification of ready-prepared lime putty. Also updates in accordance with Health Building Notes, Health Technical Memorandum, Construction Products Regulation information and CE Marking. Our technical specialists continue to rationalize sections for ease of specification and to avoid duplication and also include additional suggested values for greater choice in product and system detail.
An update of particular note during this quarter was released in July which included an update to the Project Management sections to reflect JCT MW and JCT MWD 2016 Editions.
Important
Update 47 - July 2016
As part of their ongoing publishing programme, the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) released the first batch of their ‘2016’ contracts towards the end of June. This included the Minor Works (MW) and the Minor Works with Contractor’s Design (MWD). The two new MW contracts include a mixture of consolidation and new content. JCT have also made some alterations to the payment and insurance provisions, with the intention of making both easier to manage.
The Project Management content for these contracts has been reviewed and amended for inclusion in NBS Create to support users in use of these contracts on their projects.
This is the first part of a programme of JCT 2016 updating activity. We are also in discussion with SBCC and JCLI (who use JCT documents as the basis of their own contract forms) to plan updates for related NBS content – of note to NBS Create customers who subscribe to the landscape library, or use the Scottish contracts.
