Building Information Modelling

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the representation of a design as digital objects; a process which allows for the generating and managing of building data throughout its life cycle. BIM encompasses building geometry, spatial relationships as well as quantities and properties of building components. It addresses issues such as cost and project management and provides a way to work concurrently on most aspects of building life cycle processes. Widespread adoption of BIM will result in process and efficiency improvements for the construction industry.
