Video: Sketching Strata SE1
STRATA SE1 is the tallest residential tower in Britain, standing 147 metres – 40 storeys – from ground level to the top of the roof structure. This programme takes a look at the setting of Strata SE1 and its structure, engineered by WSP.
The lead engineer talks through – via the medium of hand sketching – the key elements of the building: the foundations and exposed pile heads; the walking columns (for which this building won an award); and the wind loading.
