Video: Eurocode 7: Geotechnical Design
 

Eurocode 7 is Europe's first geotechnical design code to share a common philosophy with the design methodology for structures.

It is divided into two parts, the first covering General Rules and the second Ground Investigation and Testing.

• Part 1 is subdivided into twelve sections and nine annexes and provides a general framework for geotechnical design, definition of ground parameters, characteristic and design values, general rules for site investigation and rules for the design of the main types of geotechnical structures.
• Part 2 is subdivided into six sections and twenty-four annexes and provides detailed rules for site investigations, general test specifications, derivations of ground properties and the geotechnical model of the site.
