The National BIM Library – launch at Ecobuild 2012

We are delighted to confirm that following six months of investigation, development, consultation and investment; the National BIM Library will be launched at Ecobuild, 20-22 March 2012.

The National BIM Library, from NBS, is a platform-neutral free to use library of high quality generic and proprietary BIM objects, designed for use in the UK. The library will be revealed on the joint RIBA / NBS stand at Ecobuild (Stands S1630 and S1640) with the first batch of generic BIM objects in IFC, plus native formats from some of the leading CAD software vendors.

The library will build up to become the leading source of free-to-use BIM objects, and over time will also incorporate proprietary manufacturer objects.

BIM Seminar

Dr Stephen Hamil, Head of Design and Innovation at NBS and BIM specialist, is speaking at the Ecobuild 'Better through BIM' seminar stream. Stephen will be contributing to the session exploring 'Understanding the application of BIM' at 10.30-12.00 on Wednesday 21 March.

NBS at Ecobuild

NBS is delighted to announce that we are confirmed as a supporter of Ecobuild, which takes place at ExCel in London from 20 - 22 March 2012.

Not only will we have a significant presence within the RIBA Village stand, where we will talking about key issues such as sustainability, BIM, specification and contracts and law, key NBS colleagues will also be contributing to the Seminar and Conference programme. On the stand we will be showcasing our revolutionary new specification tool, NBS Create, and the ground breaking National BIM Library. We will also be presenting the results of our second annual BIM Survey and results from a number of sustainability research projects.

Within the RIBA Village visitors and exhibitors will not only find NBS, they will also discover RIBA Bookshops, RIBA Product Selector, RIBA CPD, RIBA Insight and RIBA Appointments as well as information about the RIBA's activities.
