Video: An introduction to Eurocodes

The Eurocodes are a new set of European structural design codes for building and civil engineering works. Conceived and developed over the past 30 years, they are arguably the most advanced structural codes in the world.

The Eurocodes are intended to be mandatory for European public works and likely to become the standard for the industry – both in Europe and worldwide.

It is important that the industry is prepared, as from the 31st March 2010 the British Standards Institute will withdraw standards such as BS 8110 and BS 5950. All other national standards that conflict will also be withdrawn.
