Digital Construction Week next month is set to explore how digital technologies are changing the face of the entire architecture, engineering and construction industries - from design through construction and engineering to management and operation.

Taking place from 20 to 22 October, the Exposure Media event, is actually four in one, featuring a VIP Westminster reception (20 October),  the Autodesk Leadership Conference (20 October),  a two-day Digital Construction Show, Exhibition and Conference (21 and 22 October) and the Digital Construction Awards ceremony on 22 October.

Whether you’ve been exploring BIM adoption, experimenting with emerging smart technologies or investigating advances in manufacturing materials, organisers promise a thought-provoking series of events that aim to reflect the realities of the dawn of a new era for construction and what it means today and is likely to mean in the years to come.

The event will draw on contributions from a range of sponsors and partners from across the architecture, engineering, construction and operation world including Autodesk, Graphisoft, RICS and NBS, meaning this is definitely a programme that you won’t want to miss!

Westminster Reception

A range of industry stakeholders and clients will hear more about Government plans for delivering Level 2 BIM in advance of the 2016 deadline with talks from David Philp, BIM Task Group, and David Hancock, Head of Construction Team, Cabinet Office at a VIP Westminster Reception  on 20 October.

Autodesk Leadership Conference

The Autodesk Leadership Conference on 20 October will bring together over 250 industry and public sector leaders to share best practice, network and take away new approaches to digital strategy. This represents a unique opportunity for organizations looking to export their BIM capability across the globe. A day pass costs £295 plus VAT (discounted to £245 if you sign up before 11 September).

The Digital Construction Show

The Digital Construction Show  at London’s Business Design Centre, on 21 and 22 October will showcase leading suppliers from across the AECO industry and beyond. 

You’ll get to experience some of the latest technology and software; virtual reality, robotics, wearables, hardware, UAVs and scanning, and BIM, through a series of interactive and immersive demos. 

You’ll also hear contributions from industry thought-leaders via a series of live talks and interactive forums. Expect in-depth guidance and support on real-time issues such as BIM compliance and inspirational presentations on how BIM, digital and new technologies are transforming the built environment.

Visitors will also be welcomed to the exclusive BIM4 Communities Village where the BIM4 Groups and Regional Hubs will host BIM talks and workshops.

The Digital Construction Show Conference

The Digital Construction Show Conference  will run alongside the main exhibition and further explore the idea of digitising the AECO industry, looking at the challenges and opportunities of digital adoption and implementation at every level.  A number of themes will be explored including adopting a digital mindset, the role of digital in the skills training education and diversity agenda, adopting an outcome rather than a technology focussed approach, utilizing digital technologies to solve the problems of today, not just the future, and, of course, collaboration and change management.

You’ll have heard lots recently about BIM, Big Data, IoT, Smart Cities, Cloud, UAVs, Laser Scanning, Virtual Reality, Robotics and much more much more - but what do they mean to you?  The conference will explore the convergence of the latest digital technologies, trends, and processes and how we can start to harness them for future growth and what they mean to you as a profession and as a business today.  You’ll be shown how digital is changing the face of our industry and the skills you’re likely to need once you’ve set out on your digital journey.

The Digital Construction Awards

The Digital Construction Awards , which will celebrate best practice in technology, innovation and BIM from across the built environment, will round out the event at the Emirates Stadium on 22 October.
