Uniclass

UNICLASS ADVISORY BOARD

NBS works with an Advisory Board on making updates and improvements to Uniclass.

Board

About the Uniclass Advisory Board (UAB)

The UAB advises on improvements to Uniclass in relation to the evolution of digital construction and the requirement for data security around sensitive assets, such as buildings and infrastructure, helping to make interoperability between software platforms easier.

The UAB is made up of a cross-section of industry organisations, including representatives from bodies that supply, consume, and procure construction data. The UAB’s chair is Fiona Moore who currently oversees the technical delivery of the Government & Industry Interoperability Group (GIIG). NBS experts Sarah Delany and Tina Pringle also sit on the board, providing expert technical advice and insights.

The five key organisations who make up the UAB are:

Association of Cost Engineers (AcostE)

ACostE represents the professional interests of those with responsibility, at all levels, for the prediction, planning and control of resources and cost for activities that involve engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT)

The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists is the qualifying body for architectural technology, primarily in the United Kingdom but also internationally.

Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is a worldwide professional body for construction management and leadership in the built environment.

Institute of Asset Management (IAM)

The IAM is the international professional body for asset management, developing asset management knowledge, sharing best practice, and creating awareness of the benefits of the asset management discipline for individuals, organisations and wider society.

UK BIM Alliance (UKBIMA)

The UK BIM Alliance aims to ensure BIM becomes business as usual whilst at the same time, transforming and future proofing the way the industry works.
