Welcome to Uniclass

Uniclass is a ‘shared language’ for organisations. It ensures consistency, clearer communication and better record keeping. The new Uniclass tool has been built to improve the searchability and usability of Uniclass, making it easier to navigate than ever before. Search and browse the tables to instantly look for codes, or download them to use in your own systems.

Advisory board

NBS works with an independent Advisory Board made up of a cross-section of industry organisations to make updates and improvements to Uniclass.

Mappings and translations

Uniclass can be used alongside other classification systems, with mappings helping users work across different schemes.

Current mappings include NRM1 from RICS and relationships between Uniclass and IFC 2x3 TC1. Equivalent codes are shown where available, and further mappings may be added as industry needs develop.
