Chorus Supplemental (Transitioning to Uniclass for existing CAWS Users)
Course overview
This supplemental training course is designed for existing Chorus users who now need to use the Uniclass content. This course will upskill delegates with the necessary knowledge and practical expertise to use the Uniclass content, together with all the features and functionality in Chorus which is unique to the Uniclass workflow. Upon completion, the delegates will be able to efficiently create high-quality specification documents in the Uniclass format.
This course wraps together the Uniclass specific elements from our Essentials and Advanced training courses. The session will be a live trainer-led session within which the delegates will gain hands-on experience directly within the platform.
Prerequisites
This course assumes that all delegates will already be familiar with the core functionality of the Chorus platform and will have completed specifications previously within the platform using the CAWS (Common Arrangement of Work Sections) content. The delegates should therefore already be knowledgeable of / comfortable with the following:

The general concept, layout, navigation and features of the platform.

Setting up new projects and specifications.
- Core principles of working within clauses (adding / changing clause reference details, entering / choosing text values, formatting text, adding / parking / duplicating rows).
- Publishing a specification in either PDF or Word document format.
This course is delivered in a group booking format.

Understand the key differences between the CAWS and Uniclass classification systems and content sets, together with the key differences in workflows when using each content set within Chorus.
- Use the search and browse functionalities with the Uniclass content set to find and add relevant content.
- Review clause suggestions within systems and use them to link clauses to the system.

Understand how to defer decisions on linking clauses within a system.

Incorporating the relevant detailed project information into linked clauses.

Share clauses across multiple systems to reduce duplication within the specification.
- Find and link clauses within systems where they are not directly suggested.
- See in which system clauses suggestions for other clauses will appear within.
- Understand what broken links are, what might cause them and how to fix them.
- Use the spec check report as part of your QA process.
- Understand the publishing options unique to Uniclass.
By achieving these objectives, users will become proficient in utilising the Uniclass content within the Chorus platform to create high-quality documents efficiently.
