Advisory board

The Uniclass Advisory Board (UAB) brings together organisations from across the construction industry to help guide the continued development of Uniclass.

The board provides insight into changing industry needs, from digital construction and interoperability to the secure management of sensitive building and infrastructure data. Its members represent organisations that create, use and procure construction information, helping ensure Uniclass continues to support more consistent, connected ways of working across the industry.

The five key organisations who make up the UAB are:

Association of Cost Engineers (AcostE)

ACostE represents the professional interests of those with responsibility, at all levels, for the prediction, planning and control of resources and cost for activities that involve engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT)

The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists is the qualifying body for architectural technology, primarily in the United Kingdom but also internationally.

Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is a worldwide professional body for construction management and leadership in the built environment.

Institute of Asset Management (IAM)

The IAM is the international professional body for asset management, developing asset management knowledge, sharing best practice, and creating awareness of the benefits of the asset management discipline for individuals, organisations and wider society.

UK BIM Alliance (UKBIMA)

The UK BIM Alliance aims to ensure BIM becomes business as usual whilst at the same time transforming and future-proofing the way the industry works.
