Abstract
A properly designed chimney controls draft and removes flue gas. Describes the design of chimneys that discharge flue gas from appliance chimney and fireplace chimney systems. In this chapter, appliance refers to any furnace, boiler, or incinerator (including the burner). Unless the context indicates otherwise, the term chimney includes specialized vent products such as gas vents.
