Provides additional information, by way of explanation, on the following: The application of HTM 86 to: private hospitals and nursing homes, non-acute hospital accommodation providing long-term care, HTM 81 and Nucleus hospitals: Automatic door releases on fire doors: Fire-resisting doors to protected shafts: The application of HTM 86 to departments providing care for persons suffering from a mental illness: The provision of a high standard of alarm and detection as required by HTM 86: The application of HTM 86 to patient access areas which are located on floors three or more storey heights above ground level: Emergency lighting, and Location of cavity barriers.
