Abstract
Updated in line with the new Part M to the Building Regulations and BS 8300:2001, takes an inclusive approach to the provision of WCs to suit a wide a range of users, and gives guidance on various WC layouts. Includes advice on planning, distribution and management issues and on resolving potential conflicts between the needs of disabled people and other users. In situations where it may not be possible to follow all best practice guidelines this guide will assist in thinking through the issues and coming up with creative solutions which will go towards meeting the needs of many disabled people. Architects, developers, building control officers and other building professionals will find this a useful guide in helping to design the enabling environments that disabled people seek.
