Abstract
Investigation by the Transport Research Laboratory into the effect a tripling of air traffic, and the associated increase in surface transport, would have on the tranquillity of rural areas. Advocates the Government's Air Transport White Paper should recognise the potential impact and minimise it. Argues for managing demand rather than responding to trend.
