Access, movement and parking - clarification of policy AMP 3: access to protected routes

Publication Year

2006

Document Status

Current

Abstract

Provides clarification to policy AMP 3: Access to Protected Routes of PPS 3, to address an ambiguity in the policy as to whether or not particular roads are designed to an appropriate standard as dual carriageways, ring roads, through-passes and by-passes; and to address in policy terms access onto high standard dual carriageways, a new standard of dual carriageway that is similar in design terms to a motorway.

Document History

Will be cancelled by Strategic planning policy statement for Northern Ireland (SPPS) - planning for sustainable development (DOENI, 2015) when all eleven councils have adopted a new Plan Strategy for the whole of their council area. Supersedes Policy AMP 3 in PPS 3: Access, movement and parking (Planning Service, 2005). To be read with PPS3: Access, movement and parking (DENIPS, 2005).
