Abstract

Provides information on characteristics of treated timber and guidance on its use, safety and disposal. Presents a system of specifications on the level of treatment most appropriate for the desired life of commodities in UK service conditions. The WPA Commodity Specifications cover common uses for timber species whose natural durability is insufficient to deliver an adequate service life. Addresses handling and storing treated timber, quality assurance and analytical procedures.

Superseded by the second edition, published April 2012. Together with WPA's 'Industrial flame retardant treatment of solid timber and panel products' supersedes the BWPDA Manual. Edition 1/2007.
