Abstract

BB83 sets out the aims of SEAM which are to: (a) raise awareness of how energy use in buildings has a major impact on the atmospheric problems of global warming and acid rain; (b) improve the quality of the internal environment for school users, e.g. by providing better air quality, adequate ventilation and optimum use of daylight; (c) encourage the use of construction materials and products which are of an environmentally friendly nature, minimising the depletion of non-renewable resources, destruction of the tropical rain forests and wasteful use of local resources.
