Government's Chief Construction Advisor to speak at the first NBS Live conference in London

Press Release
6 November 2013

Peter Hansford, Chief Construction Advisor for the UK Government will open the first NBS Live conference on Tuesday 26th November at the Business Design Centre, London. This brand new one-day conference will provide construction professionals with access to 80 specialist speakers across 16 themed seminars.

Peter will outline what needs to be done to take full advantage of the increasing global opportunities in the construction sector, and give his views on where the industry stands today and the challenges it faces.

In addition to the keynote speech, there will be four dedicated conference rooms hosting over 80 speakers in total. These seminars will follow the four distinct themes of Business & Practice, Technical, Design and BIM.

Delegates will learn from industry specialists and connect with fellow professionals with the aim of fostering collaboration and communication across the building team.

Alongside Peter Hansford there will be speakers from firms such as Terry Farrell and Partners, Argent, Accenture, Gleeds, Jones Lang LaSalle, Aedas, Balfour Beatty and Crossrail.

Highlights of this engaging programme of seminars will include discussions in the 'Design Room' of the opportunities and challenges facing the growth areas of green infrastructure, place-making and housing and a seminar on how to win work in the 'Business and Practice Room.'

In the 'BIM Room' David Philp, Head of BIM implementation at the Cabinet Office, will lead discussions on what the Government requires by 2016 and the longer strategic vision of construction 2025. Whilst in the 'Technical Room' a seminar on the future of green buildings unveils pioneering technologies that could make a significant impact on the way we approach design and construction.
