NBS and Viewpoint announce partnership

NBS and Viewpoint announce partnership

Aug 14, 2019 |NBS |2 Minute Read

NBS, the leading specification platform for the construction industry, has today announced its partnership with leading common data environment (CDE) provider Viewpoint.

The partnership will see the two organisations working together to improve collaboration and integration between architects, specifiers and contractors throughout the design and construction process.

With its new Chorus platform, NBS has brought cloud specification to the construction market, and sees a big opportunity to integrate this with CDEs – cloud-based extranets that host project information. By connecting the data between the two systems, the construction workflow can be streamlined, saving time and reducing errors.

The partnership between NBS and Viewpoint has already been put into practice, with the launch of an ‘export submittals’ feature in NBS Chorus. This allows specifiers to export their submittals (tasks for the Contractor to deliver) in a single click, and then import them straight into Viewpoint CDE. Up until now, this has been a manual, time-consuming task, prone to human error.

NBS has developed partnerships with industry-leading CDE companies such as Viewpoint to provide customers with enhanced value and smarter specifications.

NBS is committed to helping our customers save time and work towards a safer industry. By integrating CDE partners into NBS Chorus we are helping our customers improve their workflow and accuracy. Previously they had to manually create submittals from their spec, and enter them into their CDE. This can now be done at the touch of a button through NBS Chorus. We’re looking forward to working further with Viewpoint on future integrations.

Sascia Elliott, Head of Partnerships at NBS

Commenting on the partnership, Andrew Brennan (Product Manager, EMEA) said:

‘I'm excited by this partnership and the value it will bring to our customers. Viewpoint software is a fulcrum for collaboration on a construction project; so to be able to consume a Specification written in NBS Chorus and manage the associated Submittals on the Viewpoint platform with just a few clicks, removes repetitive admin and offers tremendous efficiency savings’.

NBS Chorus, the flagship product from NBS, allows users to work smarter and safer whilst enabling new levels of global collaboration. The use of cloud technology ensures that those using the new platform have the latest software and global content at all times – including the latest standards and regulations.
