Connecting manufacturers, architects and construction professionals around the globe, NBS Chorus is the innovative software platform destined to take Digital Construction Week by storm!

Research undertaken by leading construction specification software provider NBS suggests that 70% of specifiers need manufacturers to provide them with BIM objects and product specifications. As both manufacturers and construction professionals are coming together at Digital Construction Week 2019, it’s the perfect environment for NBS to showcase its innovative new platform, NBS Chorus.

Preparations are well underway to welcome engineers, architects, construction planning managers, industry stakeholders and manufacturers to the NBS stand at Digital Construction Week 2019, to demonstrate the opportunities and benefits that both NBS Chorus and the wider BIM platform bring across the industry.

NBS will be showcasing the first and only cloud-based specification platform in the industry, NBS Chorus, which has been specifically developed with construction professionals in mind to deliver benefits including:

  • Minimise risk – rely on NBS’ multi-disciplinary specialist team to keep on top of thousands of changes to construction standards.
  • Increase collaboration – with a powerful permissions model, empower your team members to work together on specs in real-time, across organisations and locations.
  • Drive efficiency – create a seamless link between your model and specification, saving you time and reducing the risk of information becoming out of sync.

Whilst the benefits for users are clear, the event also creates the opportunity for manufacturers to understand how embedding their product data in the National BIM Library and the NBS specification platform ensures less substitution and more orders on projects. It is a crucial time for NBS to engage with the industry, at a point when the UK faces a severe housing shortage, addressed by the Government’s commitment to building 300,000 new homes every year until the mid-2020s. Coupled with a likely recommendation from the Hackitt Report that building handovers should consist of a thorough digital record, a transformative and relevant digital solution is much needed to match the housing ambition.

Building on NBS’ wide-ranging portfolio of products, NBS Chorus has been developed in consultation with construction professionals themselves, to create a new platform that encourages collaboration and maximises efficiency on complex construction projects. As the first cloud-based specification platform on the market, NBS Chorus has been specifically designed for those who need to develop high-quality building specifications efficiently whilst working with colleagues wherever they are located.

With the launch of NBS Chorus, projects will become more collaborative and efficient, bringing together the vital information and specification needed for all those working within the industry. It has been reported that NBS Chorus can save users up to 50% of the resource to produce a specification, compared to doing it manually.

We know that for ambitious and collaborative practices, a cloud-based specification platform is the optimum solution to meet the oncoming challenges in the UK and global construction markets. We’re excited to be bringing the first platform of its type to architects and construction professionals across the UK, and look forward to sharing this innovative software with visitors at Digital Construction Week 2019 in October

Richard Waterhouse, CEO at NBS

The team from NBS is looking forward to welcoming visitors from across the industry to their stand (F68) at DCW from 16 October. Visitors will be able to interact with a live demonstration of NBS Chorus to experience the simplicity and effectiveness of the new platform for themselves, and will have an opportunity to talk to the team about the process and benefits of adding products to the NBS Platform.

Visitors can gain insight and expert advice from the NBS team through one-to-one and keynote speaker sessions. Expert consultancy sessions are being offered, with tailored content to address visitor-specific needs whether you are an architect, an engineer or a manufacturer. Sessions can be viewed and appointments booked here: www.theNBS.com/DCW .

Those visiting The BIM Village can learn from two of the leading experts working within NBS, as they share their knowledge and experience of decades spent in the industry. Recognised industry authority Dr. Stephen Hamil will be speaking about the collaborative benefits of BIM on Thursday 17 October at 11.00 am, whilst NBS Head of Manufacturer Operations Lee Jones will be dispelling the ‘Myths, Mayhem & Confusion’ with a keynote talk aimed specifically at manufacturers on Wednesday October 16 at 11.30 am.
