9 new manufacturers live on NBS National BIM Library

July 2014

BIM objects were added to the NBS National BIM Library in May, June and July 2014 for the following manufacturers: COBA Flooring externallink, Intastop externallink, Johnstones externallink, Polyflor externallink, RCM Ltd externallink, Solus Ceramics Ltd externallink and Tobermore externallink.

Polyflor, one of the 9 manufacturers to go live, is the UK's commercial and residential vinyl flooring specialist, and the company is now offering Building Information Modelling (BIM) objects for a selection of its best-selling flooring ranges, available to download free of charge via www.NationalBIMLibrary.com externallink. The objects are also available on the Polyflor website externallink.

As part of the first phase of Polyflor's BIM Object development the objects have been developed in all leading software formats. The flooring manufacturer has selected the perfect timing to make their products available, with the UK adoption rate tripling in three years since the launch of NBS's separate UK National BIM Survey.

"Polyflor have invested a vast amount of time and research into BIM and its future as a groundbreaking advancement in technology for the construction industry. With the UK adoption rate of BIM tripling over the past three years it is the perfect time for Polyflor to offer another level of service to our customers. The National BIM Library was a natural choice for Polyflor as it was important for us to provide the selected ranges as objects available free of charge for download across all leading software formats."

Tom Rollo, Marketing Manager at Polyflor
