Abstract

The aim of this book is to provide guidance on the art and science of connection design. The behaviour and design strengths of bolts, welds and other components in the connection are summarised. Methods of analysis are reviewed and a number of novel design aids to assist quick analysis are presented. Practicalities of connection construction are described to ensure that the designer can produce connections that are economic both to fabricate and erect.
