Abstract
The September briefing article focuses on construction waste and sustainability, introducing the second document in the BS 8895 series: Designing for material efficiency in building projects – Part 2: Code of Practice for concept and developed design. In the news, a draft national minimum wage regulations amendment is scheduled to come into force in October, affecting SI 2015/621. Recent documents include: BS 8536-1:2015, Briefing for design and construction. Code of practice for facilities management (Buildings infrastructure), which supersedes GS 8526:2010; an important BSRIA document on Legionnaires’ disease; and a BRE report on lighting and health.
