Abstract
Relates to Permaflex, a polyisobutylene flashing with an aluminium core, and a butyl adhesive protected by a split release liner on the lower surface, for use as waterproofing in flashing applications on pitched roofs, as an alternative to lead flashing. Key factors assessed were mechanical resistance and stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment, safety and accessibility in use, protection against noise, energy economy and heat retention, sustainable use of natural resources, and durability.
