Abstract
Sets out ADEPT’s priorities for a future government, arguing that local authorities need greater powers, long-term funding certainty, and stronger partnerships with central government to address challenges such as housing shortages, climate change, economic inequality, and infrastructure needs. It calls for ambitious devolution, a move away from short-term competitive funding, support for sustainable growth, and a place-based approach to net zero, climate adaptation, and nature recovery. The manifesto also outlines specific policy recommendations across housing, planning, transport, infrastructure, environment, and climate change to help councils deliver resilient, inclusive, and prosperous communities.
