Abstract
Sets out ADEPT’s housing priorities for the UK Government, advocating a long-term, place-based approach to tackling the housing crisis through increased homebuilding, planning reform, and investment in local communities. It highlights six key themes: building more homes, creating a planning system that delivers quality places, improving existing housing, supporting health and wellbeing, achieving net zero and climate resilience, and improving access, affordability, and housing security. The paper calls for greater devolution, increased funding for social and affordable housing, accelerated retrofit programmes, and stronger support for vulnerable households to create sustainable, healthy, and resilient communities.
