Abstract
Provide guidance on achieving the standards set in the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004.

Superseded by Scottish Government Technical Handbook 2010 - Non-domestic. In force from 01 June 2009. Technical Handbooks 2008 - On 1 May 2007, a revised edition of the Technical Handbooks introduced significant revisions within sections 0, 1, 3, 4 and 6. The 2007 edition is now updated with corrections to sections 1, 2, 3 and 6. Other than corrections, there are no changes or additions to the 2007 standards and guidance within the 2008 edition. January 2009 - replacement pages were issued to update Non-domestic technical handbook to 2009 Technical handbook affecting Section 0 - General, section 6 - Energy and Appendix A - Defined Terms. May 2009 - replacement pages were issued to update 2008 Domestic Technical Handbook to 2009 Technical Handbook - affecting Section 0 - General, Section 2 - Fire, Section 3 - Environment, Section 4 - Safety and Section 6 - Energy. Supersedes Scottish Government Technical Handbook 2008 - Non-domestic. Other versions available on The Construction Information Service via publishers SBSA and Scottish Government.

The Scottish Building Standards Agency (SBSA) was disbanded on 1 April 2008 and its functions to administer the Building Standards system in Scotland were transferred back to the Scottish Government. The Building Standards Division includes Planning and Architectural Policy.
