Abstract
The Apple House is a 150m² education and wellbeing hub in Hertfordshire designed by Okra, combining a spruce glulam frame with in-situ cast hempcrete and locally sourced materials. Set within a revitalised orchard, the building connects multifunctional interior spaces to surrounding gardens and woodland, supporting a year-round community programme focused on horticulture and environmental stewardship. Its architecture reflects the values of the Orchard Project, promoting health and inclusion through nature-based design.
